Support for the Non-Clinical Parts of Life

There are times when a person may be doing well from a clinical standpoint but still struggling with a significant change in their life.
A child has left home.
A loved one needs caregiving.
Someone is adjusting to retirement.
A relationship or role has changed.
They are grieving a loss.
They feel overwhelmed and unsure what to do next.
They may not need therapy.
They may simply need structured support while they work through what life looks like now.
That's where ME Wellness can help.

My Approach

I provide structured, non-clinical coaching for people navigating difficult life changes.
My approach is built around a collaborative partnership.
I help clients:
Slow things down and create some space
Identify what matters most
Sort through thoughts, priorities, and decisions
Recognize patterns and circumstances affecting the situation
Explore strategies that fit their personality, lifestyle, and priorities
Practice those strategies and make adjustments
Build confidence in moving forward on their own
Find a way through what has changed in a way that feels right for them.

The S.U.R.E. Roadmap

ME Wellness Coaching uses a focused four-session structure called the S.U.R.E. Roadmap.
S — Stabilize
Create some space and identify what matters most right now.
U — Understand
Look at the patterns, beliefs, and circumstances affecting the situation.
R — Practice
Explore and apply tools that fit the client's life.
E — Integrate
Build confidence and a plan the client can carry forward.
The four-session structure provides a clear beginning, middle, and end rather than creating an open-ended coaching relationship. Continuing after 4 sessions is always an option but not an expectation. We'll talk about what you've accomplished, what you still need, and whether continuing makes sense for you.

What to Expect in Coaching Sessions

We begin with what's happening in their life right now.
Sessions may include conversations about:
-
What has changed
-
What has been weighing on them
-
What feels difficult
-
What they are struggling to decide
-
What they need help with
-
What they have tried already
-
What they want to be different
I ask questions, offer perspective, introduce tools, and help clients look at their situation from different angles.
Clients remain responsible for their own decisions.
The goal is to help the client become more confident and capable of moving forward independently.

Coaching Methods

My coaching draws from evidence-informed principles related to:
Behavior change
Helping clients identify realistic actions and build strategies they are more likely to use.
Motivational Interviewing
Exploring what matters to the client and what may help them move from knowing something to actually doing it.
Stages of change
Recognizing that people may be at different points in their readiness to make a change.
Patterns and triggers
Looking at what contributes to feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
Personalized strategy development
Choosing approaches that fit the client's personality, lifestyle, priorities, and circumstances.
Reflection and practice
Using conversation, exercises, and between-session practice to help clients apply what they are learning.
Privacy and Professional Boundaries
Coaching conversations are treated as confidential and handled professionally. Coaching is not the same as clinical mental health treatment and does not carry all of the same legal protections or requirements as therapy.

When Clinical Care is Needed, I Refer.

If a client's needs fall outside the scope of coaching, I do not attempt to treat them through coaching.
A client may need clinical support when they are experiencing concerns such as significant depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, thoughts of self-harm, or another mental health condition requiring assessment or treatment.
When that is the case, clinical care should take priority.
ME Wellness can help connect clients with appropriate therapy through our affiliate partner: Brightside Health or other professional resources when needed.

Who Is a Good Fit for ME Wellness Coaching?

A good coaching candidate may be someone who:
-
Is experiencing a significant but non-clinical life change
-
Is having difficulty adjusting to what has changed
-
Feels stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what comes next
-
Would benefit from structured support
-
Wants help sorting through thoughts and decisions
-
Is open to exploring new strategies
-
Wants to remain actively involved in making their own decisions
-
Does not require clinical mental health treatment as the primary form of support
Sometimes the starting point is simply:
"Something has changed, and I don't know what to do next."
That's enough to begin.

Why Providers Refer to ME Wellness

Providers may encounter people who are not necessarily looking for treatment, but who still need support.
ME Wellness can provide a structured space for clients that fit that criteria.
This allows coaching to complement—not replace—appropriate clinical care.

A message from Amy
Over the years, I've learned something important: life doesn't always need to be fixed. Sometimes, it needs to be lived through.
I've talked with people who are grieving, caring for someone they love, adjusting to an empty nest, facing retirement, dealing with unexpected changes, and simply trying to figure out how to move forward when life doesn't look the way it used to.
And I've learned having the right support can make those experiences easier to navigate.
That's why I created ME Wellness.
I wanted to create a place where you can come when something in your life feels hard or different—and find a resource, a tool, or a little support that actually fits what you're going through.
Sometimes it's coaching.
And sometimes, what you really need is to talk with a therapist. and we will support you with that too.
You don't have to force yourself to be okay with what happened and live with it alone.
You can learn how to move through it.
That's what I'm here for.
